Customised Anti Bullying and Resilience Programs for Primary Schools
As adults (and educators) we’ve likely encountered a bully in our lifetime. Whether it’s at work or in school, bullying is a trait that can be picked up as a child and stick with you through to adulthood.
It can also be something that impacts your self esteem and confidence well into the future. Potentially causing lifelong damage if you’re the victim.
It’s this, along with my own personal experiences as a child, which lead me to write my book, ‘Charming Charlie and Spectacular Sophia.’
The book, aimed at kids aged 7 – 12, is focused on the power of friendship. The story encourages kids to be proud of the person they are and to have hope for a future filled with fun, laughter and dreams of success.
With my background as an arts therapist and educator, following the release of the book I created an accompanying workbook designed for school aged children. This follows the story and themes explored in the book and has creative activities to be completed.
You can purchase the book and workbook for your school, or incorporate a complete program for students where me and my team customise a program for your student group.

My brand-new children’s book is launched!
‘Sophia and Charlie and the In-Betweens’ is book number 2 in the Charlie and Sophia series. This one is all about the challenges children can face with life’s transitions. One of the characters in the book called Godfrey eloquently puts it this way – ‘the in-betweens are the preppies leaving home to go to school, the kids leaving primary and going to high school and the seniors making the most of life before leaving for ‘heaven’!
When we share our gifts and talents in kindness, generosity, and support with others, we start to believe in ourselves, and that’s when the true magic happens.
My books are available online and you can also email me to purchase, and I will personally sign them for you and post for FREE!
School program to teach confidence and resilience to primary school children
My in-school program encourages students to discover how to have hope and resilience in the face of bullying. The program is unique in its ability to actively engage students as they follow the story of the book. While at the same time celebrating creative ways to help kids feel joy and celebrate who they are.
Your school’s program can be customised in length depending on the needs of your student group. With all programs focused on establishing a safe and supportive environment for the children. We want your students to feel relaxed, comfortable and safe.
Throughout the program students will develop essential skills including:
- teamwork and collaborative decision-making
- resilience
- not giving up
- being proud of their achievements
- how to take pride in their presentations
- becoming more confident in other aspects of their lives.
We teach the children these skills through a range of different activities. From drumming, singing, presenting, dancing, reading and drawing.
One really important thing children improve on throughout the program is self-awareness. We teach them how to reflect on their own behaviour. Helping them to become aware of themselves saying or doing things that could be hurtful to others.
Although the program is centred around bullying and resilience, it has proven to enrich children’s lives in many different ways.
Teachers love our program
I think it’s wonderful the way you emphasised relationships and the importance of establishing a safe supportive environment. Your program is wonderful and we have been extremely fortunate to pilot this program. 5A students will remember this experience! And, I’m hoping Shankari and Kiki will be keen to revisit the book’s themes in the future. Thank you for sharing – the video is just AMAZING!
5A greatly enjoyed the book and the related activities ‘Charming Charlie and Spectacular Sofia’. Students developed essential skills such as working together (collaborating) as a team, collective decision-making, developing resilience, persisting with work, taking pride in their presentations and taking responsibility. Students loved learning presenting, drumming, singing, dancing and illustrating taking lessons from the book’s illustrator. The whole program enriched our students in so many different ways.
