Creating resilient, confident communities.

Community workshops tailored to your community groups unique needs

Whether we’re children, parents, women or support workers, a sense of belonging is an important part of creating a strong community. We want to feel like we are part of something more. Because alone we can do so little, but together we can achieve so much.

With my background as an arts therapist and educator, I’ve developed a range of community workshops perfectly designed for groups of like- minded individuals.

Some of my community programs include the following:

Program 1:

Charlie and Sophia program

The Charlie and Sophia program is for children 8 – 10 years. Through creative and fun activities, this program teaches kids to be resilient in the face of bullying and shows them how to manage associated anxiety and stress.

Program 2:

Charlie and Sophia program for  parents/carers

This is ideal for parents and carers of children being bullied. It helps you with practical strategies to support your children.

Program 3:

Tree of Life training

The ‘Tree of Life’ training – a strength-based art and narrative therapy workshop to help all members of the community recognise and build resilience in a creative and therapeutic way.

Workshop 1:

Beginner’s writers’ workshops

Online workshops to build your confidence and skills in writing stories and memoirs.

Workshop 2:

Training workshops with women

To build self-confidence, greater self esteem and resilience so you feel empowered to step into the next part of their life.

Workshop 3:

Nurturing workshops with community and support workers

To give them quality time out and acknowledgement for the work they do in the community.

Customised community programs to teach confidence and resilience

My community workshops cater for a range of different groups depending on your community’s needs. Your workshop can be customised in length and all programs focus on establishing a safe and supportive environment for everyone.  Because we know that people need to feel relaxed, comfortable and safe.

Throughout the workshops you will discover:

  • The importance of teamwork and collaborative decision-making
  • the power of friendship and community
  • how to use art to have a discussion about resilience and confidence
  • the power of journal writing and drawing
  • the importance of having a plan to manage anxiety
  • How to channel joy through music.

Although the workshops are centred around self esteem, confidence and resilience, they have proven to enrich people’s lives (and their communities) in many different ways.

Fiona Ware has been instrumental in supporting the Broken to Brilliant programs that support domestic violence survivors. Her kindness and care provided the listening ear, belief and understanding that allowed the authors at the Terror to Triumph and Shattered to Shining live-in writing workshop to feel believed and heard as they shared their stories.

During the Broken to Brilliant Survivor to Thriver Peer Mentoring program, Fiona ran three online Zoom sessions helping domestic violence survivors to harness their motivation, set goals and address the feeling of being overwhelmed. Fiona’s caring and warm nature was felt through the Zoom sessions and her program structure was clear and easy to understand with simple and practical steps to help people move forward in their lives. Broken to Brilliant will be requesting Fiona to run more programs for our Charity in the future and we are currently working with Fiona on designing the HEART program.
